Position Summary:

The Associate Digital Producer is part of a group of Web producers and designers that serves the marketing, corporate communications and revenue-generating areas of the organization including Underwriting, Commerce, and Membership/Development. The position supports both ongoing, scheduled activities as well as special projects with an emphasis on website and email production.

The Associate Web Producer routinely assembles mass email communications using standardized templates, processes them through quality assurance checks, and sets up for sending. The position also produces graphics for online advertising and updates websites with content provided from a variety of sources as well as assists other group members with routine and ongoing tasks.

At this point the position is temporary with undetermined end date.  The position has flexible hours, usually ranging from 20 - 30 hours a week but occasionally more, especially during the fall and holiday seasons.

 Position Responsibility:

  • *Sets up and tracks email campaigns on external email provider systems
  • *Compiles emailings from provided materials
  • *Maintains and updates information on a variety of web sites
  • *Produces online ads within established guidelines
  • *Maintains presence in external social networking sites
  • *Checks work for meeting established HTML standards and browser compatibility requirements.
  • *Identifies and reports production problems and assists with solutions.
  • *Other duties as assigned
  • *Create digital assets -- images and text
  • *Compile assets from various sources for digital distribution
  • *Assist in the production of special features and projects
  • *Suggest ways to meet goals and objectives
  • *Help document standards and procedures

 
Required Education and Experience:

  • *Bachelor's degree or equivalent education.
  • *Minimum of one year experience working in a digital (Web) publishing environment.

 
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • *Strong attention to detail
  • *Excellent language skills, including writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • *Fluent in HTML and CSS with ability to hand-code markup.
  • *Adept at working with a wide range of software tools.
  • *Visual design sensibility and basic understanding of usability principles.
  • *Proficiency in using Photoshop and other imaging tools.
  • *Fluent computer skills with the knowledge of basic Internet and computer standards
  • *Exposure to email production and sending systems
  • *Experience with common office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • *Ability to work efficiently with limited direct supervision.
  • *Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues in multiple departments/divisions.
  • *Ability to handle tight deadlines and quick turnaround.
  • *Ability to follow established workflow and production routines and suggest changes as needed
  • *Interpersonal skills, including ability to deal with a variety of individuals

 
Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • *Knowledge of Flash, Actionscript and other elements of Web development
  • *Experience with email production and sending systems (Lyris preferred)
  • *Experience with content management systems (TeamSite preferred)
  • *Understanding of metrics and ability to support metrics tasks
  • *Interest in digital technologies and communications
