SUMMARY
IHC Health Solutions is a marketing and distribution company of health insurance products and services. The internal communications specialist is responsible for assisting with internal and external communications, both in print and online. Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills are required.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
§  Assist with writing external communications, including e-communications, industry articles, sales copy for health insurance brochures, online copy, press releases, product announcements, presentations and related materials
§  Proofread and edit own work and copy from other sources for grammar, style and content accuracy according to AP Style
§  Serve as writer and editor of internal company newsletter
§  Collaborate with marketing and creative team to develop new concepts and work on existing projects
§  Develop catalog of all company websites, external websites and partner websites
§  Assist with editing internal and external websites and be part of the legal approval process
§  Understand demographics of the audience and their needs, and adapt the appropriate tone or brand voice needed for specific insurance agents or customers
§  Develop conceptual agent information or engagement campaigns
§  Participate in planning meetings and work with other project teams on new product rollouts or enhancements; provide editorial support
§  Create and maintain annual communications plan for exposure in industry magazines and communications

REQUIREMENTS

§  Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field and 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in health insurance industry
§  Strong business writing and editing skills
§  Demonstrated ability to self-manage projects
§  Excellent project management skills; highly organized and detail-oriented; able to consistently meet deadlines
§  Ability to work well on tight deadlines while staying motivated and accountable for successful delivery of high-quality communications.
§  Open to health insurance industry and willingness to learn about the industry and marketing of related products
§  Ability to communicate concepts and ideas into written material for specific audiences.
§  Play an active role driving communications initiatives
§  Be creative and flexible, with “roll up your sleeves” attitude.
§  Ability to share current/former work electronically.
