Connections Planner Job Description

  

Overview:

 

Our connections planner will be skilled at connecting brands to consumers to content to context.  They will be charged with creating branded strategies to engage consumers where they are, not where we want them to be.  The job requires an understanding of media (traditional and new), social media, brand strategy, and data-driven marketing activities and measurement.

 

 

 

The primary goals of this connections planner are to plan interactions between consumers and brands by:

 

·         Engaging people in brands by merging creative ideas with media channels

 

·         Thinking strategically and creatively and connectively at the same time

 

·         Applying your knowledge of how people use media to do what they want to do; and identify how brands can play a role

 

·         Creating strategies that propagate messages

 

·         Making marketing meaningful

 

 

 

Requirements are to know at least the basics of:

 

·         Media planning, including traditional and new media

 

·         Brand strategy, including topics like positioning, platform, architecture, qual/quant primary and secondary research

 

·         More generally, brand marketing and management and how they can solve business objectives

 

·         Gathering market intelligence and audience insights

 

·         Measuring and valuing interactions and connections

 

 

 

This person will be based in Minneapolis, will work across accounts, will team with creative and account managements and report to the planning department lead, is client facing, will be asked to travel periodically (day trip about once every week or two).
