Position:           Digital Designer

 

Department:      Creative

 

Reporting to:     Creative Director

 

Job Summary:

 

An experienced digital designer within the creative group of one of the best ad agencies in the country, offering both on- and off-line capabilities for clients.  Martin|Williams integrates direct response, promotion and online strategy with print and web design, technology, online marketing and direct mail to give our clients the best overall solution to their advertising needs.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Primarily handle day-to-day design projects, as assigned, from interface design to online marketing projects, working with other creative department staff, copywriters, creative supervisors, developers, strategists and project managers.
  • Design from concept and execute work through final production.
  • Stay current on online news, techniques, practices and educate others.
  • Work with creative team to develop creative approach to assignments.
  • Assist in presenting concepts to existing and new clients.
  • Opportunities exist to “volunteer” for other projects of interest that may be off-line (logos, dimensional direct, packaging).

 

 

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in design, fine arts or design-related degree (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 2 years design/art direction experience; 2 years digital/internet experience.
  • Fluent in Photoshop, Illustrator, Image Ready, Dreamweaver, Flash, and InDesign.
  • Understanding of production, development (development skills not requested).
  • Experience in multi-media, advertising, online advertising, game interface design, internet design; knowledge of promotion, direct marketing, television, design, collateral, corporate identity and other marketing disciplines.

 

 

Competencies:

 

  • Amazing skills in front-end interactive design.  Working knowledge of capabilities and limitations of platforms and browsers.
  • Knowledge of and experience using new rich media technologies for online communication.
  • Created websites, emails, banners, CD-ROMs.
  • Flexible design style, appropriate to project, subject, audience and client.
  • Incredible concepting skills and the ability to sell them.
  • Presented and pitched to clients, clearly articulating ideas, thoroughly, persuasively.
  • Designed in many media channels: print, web, dimensional, direct, promotion.
  • Exceptional communications and cooperation skills among creative team members and other departments, including account management, interface developers, project management.
  • Working understanding of today’s technologies and how to use them effectively.
  • Ideally worked in an agency environment.
  • Working knowledge of user experience principles.
