Job Summary for Interactive Business Analyst

 

The Interactive Business Analyst is responsible for the documentation of web-based projects up to enterprise sized endeavors. They work closely with Account Managers, Project Managers, Web Developers and other team members to develop web sites for clients.  As a primary interface with the client(s), the IBA is also responsible for developing and maintaining effective client relations. 

 

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

             Obtain and define requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis. 

 

             Serve as the primary client contact in the requirements definition phase of projects.

 

             Research best practices pertaining to each client situation with respect to business and operational processes, technologies, and industry trends

 

             Define site information architecture and navigation that serves as a blueprint of the site upon which all other aspects are built.

 

             Create wireframes, site maps, schematics, process maps and feature lists to reflect the intended user experience

 

             Proactively communicate and collaborate with project team and external clients to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the Functional requirements, Business Requirements Document, Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs

 

             Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates

 

             Works with development team to ensure requirements are being met

 

             Criteria for demonstrated success are:

Ø  Create thorough and complete requirement documents

 

 

 

Other Functions:

 

             May perform other duties as assigned including technical writing or project management tasks

 

             Follow company methodologies and procedures

 

             Keep abreast of new technologies, best practices, and implementation methodologies in order to continue to improve company delivery

 

             Interviewing skills around identification of business requirements    

 

             Attend new Client Meetings as required

 

 

 

Education, Experience and Other Skills

 

The Interactive Business Analyst should show progressive work experience that clearly shows a history of delivering documents for Web sites and applications using the processes and techniques listed above. The ideal candidate must be an excellent team player with the ability to learn and adapt quickly. Applicants should have a solid foundation in the required skills listed above. The candidate must possess good communication skills, a willingness to learn new technology, a positive work ethic and be able to meet deadlines.

 

             4+ years of professional experience as a Business Analyst or equivalent

 

             Strong grasp of current web technologies as well as related business issues

 

             Experience in agile/iterative environments

 

             Ability to create documentation that is understandable and targets multiple audiences.

 

             Four-year college degree required

 

             Candidate should have experience solving business problems with technology

 

             Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills

 

             Must have the ability to transfer knowledge with internal and client teams

 

             Candidate must have the ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives

 

             Must be confident working with all levels of management, and understand the demands and responsibilities of those roles
