Interactive Creative Services Manager Cordillera Interactive

Cordillera Interactive (http://www.cordillera.tv/cordillera-interactive) seeks an Interactive Creative Services Manager (CSM) in our downtown Saint Paul, MN, office, to build and lead a small team of high-volume, production-focused interactive ad designers. The team will provide web display and email-based creative media designs for local advertising clients in Cordillera markets. The CSM also will work closely with CI teams in our local television stations, corporate teams and outsourced creative services providers, to conceptualize, design and deliver user experience solutions for our web and mobile sites.

This position has both front-line management and hands-on production responsibilities. Beyond experience leading a production design team, candidates should also have a talent for designing rich, visual user interface solutions for mainstream websites, mobile sites and apps. In addition, candidates should have passion for conceiving innovative user-interface models for interactive services focused on local news and information.

Specific Responsibilities: The CSM should be capable of success in the following position responsibilities:

-- Manage a team of interactive artists/designers tasked with high-volume web display ad production, email ad production, web and mobile splash page design and other interactive advertising fundamentals.

-- Hands-on interactive creative design and production as needed.

-- Manage relationships with and assignments to outsource providers such as ad creative agencies, user experience research agencies, third-party media buyers, ad operations platforms, and analytics agencies.

-- Develop and drive efficient processes for interactive ad production, ad operations, adherence to acceptance standards, deadline performance, and overall quality assurance. Balance and monitor overall production workload assigned to internal vs. outside resources.

-- Coordinate creative production and quality assurance with CI ad operations staff at corporate and in local markets.

-- Routine communications with all relevant stakeholders to ensure successful creative production and optimal site user experience.

-- Develop ongoing knowledge base of new technologies, products, services, standards and user experiences.

-- Serve as a user experience champion and “voice of the user.” Maintain the roadmaps for user interface designs of all CI websites, mobile sites and apps, and client interactive solutions.

-- Lead brainstorming and development of overall user experience strategy with a variety of stakeholders that may include CI corporate executives, television station executives, and interactive specialists in sales, content and operations.

Position Requirements: The CSM should have the following, or comparable, skills, abilities and experience:

-- 4-plus years’ experience developing world-class, forward-thinking user experience solutions. Demonstrable track record of hands-on web and mobile user interface design leadership.

-- 2-plus years’ experience managing interactive production designers.

-- Proficiency with common design tools (such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, HTML5/CSS3, After Effects, 3-D modeling, etc.).

-- Strong design sensibilities and attention to detail.

-- Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in interactive media, graphic or industrial design disciplines.

-- Working knowledge of large-scale interactive display ad management platforms, such as DoubleClick, RealMedia or OpenX.

-- Working knowledge of rich media ad formats, vendor products, and agency reporting/analytics tools.

-- Excellent organization and project management skills, attention to detail, self-motivation, and ability to keep all stakeholders on task and on budget. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

-- Passion for product innovation, compelling user experience, and exponential revenue growth in interactive media.

-- Excellent verbal, written and visual communications skills, and interpersonal communications abilities. Ability to adapt and succeed as part of a fast-growing, fast-changing team.

-- Relevant working knowledge of prevailing interactive tools and technologies, including: HTML, CSS, Flash, Web servers, content management systems, databases, development languages and frameworks, search optimization and search marketing, mobile platforms, Web metrics and analytics.

-- Relevant working knowledge of personal computer software, including Microsoft Office and reporting/analytics tools.

-- Willingness to travel, up to 10 percent.
