Minimum Position Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in MIS, computer science or a closely related field AND 3 years of progressively more responsible professional experience in a variety of information technology areas related to the duties assigned OR a combination of education and progressively more responsible professional work experience in an area closely related to this position totaling 7 years.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in designing and developing online applications and web environments
  • Experience in graphic design
  • Experience in Object Oriented Programming (OOP) across all required languages
  • Expertise with HTML5, jQuery, and CSS3
  • Expertise with PHP
  • Expertise with database design and engineering in MySQL
  • Expertise with ActionScript 3.0 for use in Adobe Flash CS5 and Adobe Flash Builder 4.0
  • Experience with Adobe Flash Media Server 3.0+
  • Experience with Final Cut Studio
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere and After Effects
  • Experience in designing and developing iPhone and iPad mobile applications using iOS 4

Preferred Position Qualifications

  • Seven (7) years of professional experience in designing and developing online applications and web environments
  • Experience with development of custom APIs for use across multiple platforms and devices

Responsibilities
New Media Design and Development – 70%

  • Serve as a designer and developer for all LT Media Lab projects
  • Work with lab directors and LTML design staff to coordinate all digital media relevant to the lab
  • Create designs, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and alpha versions for lab projects
  • Design and develop internal projects for use in the lab
  • Work with external collaborators on the development of online environments
  • Work with LT Technology Director on server maintenance, updates, and object development
  • Assist with research in usability and evaluation of all lab projects
  • Assist with dissemination, evaluation, and user-analyses of all LTML projects
  • Design and develop LT Media Lab mobile applications
  • Assist in grant writing with relevance to the development of future projects
  • Participate in internal design and development brainstorming sessions for future projects

Project Media Coordination – 15%

  • Serve as a point of contact to assist in coordination of all LT Media Lab design and development projects by assisting LTML design staff and graduate students assigned to each project
  • Maintain and disseminate all digital media to necessary personnel for use in development projects
  • Responsible for coordinating design and development communication between internal lab staff and external project collaborators

LT Media Lab Branding and Online Presence Maintenance – 15%

  • Assist in the design and development of all necessary media for the LT Media Lab website
  • Draft, edit, update, and maintain all web content on the LT Media Lab website as requested by lab directors and staff
  • Design and develop promotional media for internal and external lab use
