Reporting Relationships:

The Search Engine Marketing Specialist reports to the Online Marketing Manager. The Online Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Interactive Marketing.

 

 

Responsibilities:

The employee will leverage his/her experience in the field to manage all aspects of student marketing, including budgeting, planning, communications, and messaging strategy for Rasmussen College. The Search Engine Marketing Specialist will manage the execution of our organic search engine campaign and support the interactive marketing team with web analytics reporting and analysis. A key focus of this role will be to increase traffic to the college’s website and drive new student inquiries through the optimization of organic web content using strictly white hat strategies. Additionally, this role will be focused on finding new ways to scale content marketing insights, research and reporting through automation.

 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Identify and implement strategies for increasing site traffic through organic search listings through strictly white hat SEO tactics

     

     

  • Analyzing website strategies and translating qualitative or anecdotal data into recommendations and tactics for revising the strategies

     

     

  • Assist Online Marketing Manager in the creation and distribution of content marketing metrics, reporting, and analyses

     

     

  • Partner with marketing and other college colleagues to identify opportunities and strategies for creating, optimizing and socializing organic web content

     

     

  • Develop techniques and employ methods to streamline and/or automate aspects of interactive marketing insights, reporting, and analyses

     

     

  • Researching and resolving HTML code and content, link architecture and navigation issues

     

     

  • Work with Online Marketing Manager, existing business partners, and agencies to manage SEO campaign

     

 

 

Requirements:

A Bachelors degree is required, preferably in Business, Marketing, Economics, Mathematics or Computer Science

 

 

  • Passion for and basic understanding of search engine optimization strategies and tactics

     

     

  • An unquenchable thirst for learning new things and an insatiable hunger for self improvement

     

     

  • 1-2 years experience in B2C marketing

     

     

  • Basic understanding of Google Analytics, social media, and interactive marketing

     

     

  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and develop creative solutions

     

     

  • Strong organizational, problem solving and presentation skills

     

     

  • Mastery of Excel, including advanced data manipulation function

     

     

  • Experience with APIs is desired
