Senior Account Planner (612) 305-6000 Colle+McVoy  

Position Summary

We’re looking for a Senior Account Planner on Winfield, an agribusiness client, with a passion for discovering and defining the best opportunities for brands to stand out. This person should be a thinker, doer, creator, innovator and explorer who thrives in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Be comfortable operating as the lead strategist on a piece of business, willing to embrace everything from the high-level stuff to the daily ground work
  • Envision and implement strategic action plans that identify key brand opportunities and consumer insights, including persuading others of the proposed course of action
  • Lead the design of inventive and effective integrated marketing strategies and guide them through multiple stakeholders, client cultures and creative development
  • Effectively present strategy and insights to senior client, account and creative teams
  • Design, execution, analysis and reporting of primary and secondary research initiatives for clients and new business
  • Facilitate effective brainstorm and idea-generation sessions with internal and external teams
  • Uncover actionable insights, craft provocative briefs, conduct inspiring briefings and lay out strategic road maps that lead to standout ideas
  • Recommend and manage brand KPI and ROI metrics
  • Ensure that campaigns are being optimized for success by listening, learning and adapting in real time
  • Develop fresh ways to understand a brand, category, culture and audience
  • Create and apply forward-thinking perspectives that elevate the thought leadership and intellectual capital of the strategy team and agency
  • Continually monitor, interpret and share cultural and social trends relevant to client business
  • Mentor strategists, associate strategists and strategy interns 

 

  • Qualifications/Traits
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 7+ years of total work experience, 5+ years of experience in a strategic planning or strategically driven role
  • Experience and passion for Agribusiness is preferred (or personal connection to agriculture)
  • Agency experience (preferable) or equivalent appropriate experience
  • Ability to confidently lead clients and internal teams
  • Solid skills in all core areas: research and insights, business and digital strategy, media and connections planning, and cultural anthropology
  • Possess a high degree of independence, motivation and desire to constantly grow and improve
  • Curiosity about what makes a brand meaningful, what is driving and influencing culture, and why people do what they do
  • Passion for brilliant work, great strategy and wanting  to constantly make things better.
  • Able to be creaetive, strategic and imaginative while remaining grounded in business realities
  • A good grasp on the industry playbooks with a healthy disrespect for legacy industry models
  • Research ambidexterity, qualitative and quantitative
  • Strong strategic and marketing acumen, but without the ego or need to prove it
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A positive, proactive, self-starting, action-oriented, make-it-happen attitude
