Senior Mobile Applications Engineer

Announcing a very unique and exciting opportunity for a senior Mobile Developer to work at American Public Media, the parent company of Minnesota Public Radio. APM is the nation's largest owner of public radio stations, a premier producer of public media content and an innovator in digital journalism applications, digital content distribution and new web and mobile applications for listener engagement.

This is truly a unique opportunity for an experienced mobile developer. With the variety of production units and stations supported by APM Digital Innovations, you will have an opportunity to work on and create a broad suite of mobile applications for the iPhone, iPad and Android platforms. Applications will vary from core station mobile apps, Public Insight Network social networking interaction applications, real-time polling, information gathering, and feedback apps. You will also have the opportunity to spearhead 2D and 3D games on mobile devices geared towards enhancing listener engagement around relevant news topics and information - such as the economy and the 2012 elections. You will not only lead the development of these applications but provide mentorship, standards and frameworks for other engineers and web developers at APM.

Although APM is based in St. Paul, Minnesota, this position could work in either downtown St. Paul OR out of the West Coast engineering offices of APM located in downtown Oakland, close to BART.

You will be part of a 13 person engineering and development team at American Public Media. APM has a large and well-funded technology development team, one of the largest in public broadcasting, that is constantly striving for the highest in levels of quality and creativity in all of our work. This team is lead by an experienced veteran who headed the development of Final Cut Pro and Aperture at Apple.
