Be The Match helps patients with leukemia, lymphoma and other diseases who need a marrow or umbilical cord blood transplant. People can join the Be The Match Registry® – the world’s largest listing of potential marrow donors and donated cord blood units – contribute financially and volunteer. Patients and their families can also turn to Be The Match for support and resources before, during and after transplant. Be The Match is operated by the National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP), a nonprofit organization that matches patients with donors, educates health care professionals and conducts research so more lives can be saved.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

  • The Senior Project Specialist, Digital Content specializes in partnering with internal teams to develop interactive strategies that effectively communicate marketing messages to the appropriate audience/customer groups with a superior interactive customer experience. This person will write and edit content for NMDP public websites, as well as manage a collaborative content development process with internal customers and outside vendors. Other responsibilities include search engine marketing and optimization, PPC ad campaign planning and implementation, planning and implementing online tactics for donor and contributor campaigns, and tracking and reporting results via Web analytics.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education:                                    

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or related field. Upon evaluation, three years of experience related to the minimum experience below may be substituted for degree requirement.

Minimum Experience:                                  

  • Three years of experience in interactive content and development, preferably for medium or large-sized organizations. Experience with both B2C marketing writing preferred. Agency experience a plus.

Key Knowledge:                                             

  • Strong understanding of the interactive communications as a vehicle for marketing to public audiences and for educational outreach.
  • Advanced understanding of Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing: Ad Words Campaigns, Link Building, Social Media Networks, Blogging and Keyword Marketing
  • Principles of information architecture in relation to content writing and website development.
  • Must possess a solid understanding of social media and experience integrating advertising, PR, Web, social media and design strategies into holistic campaigns.

Key Skills:                                                       

  • Advanced writing skills and the ability to verbally translate technical information to non-technical people.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with ability to manage multiple projects having tight deadlines and complete projects according to schedule.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends.
  • Innate creativity.
  • Ability to skillfully persuade in difficult situations.
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills, combined with impeccable business judgment.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read and react to data regarding social media usage in order to define and achieve business goals
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic HTML knowledge a plus
  • Experience using a content management system.
