The National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP) is a leader in the fast-growing field of cellular transplantation. Every day, more than 6,000 children and adults are searching for a second chance at life due to a devastating illness such as leukemia, lymphoma or other threatening disease. These patients seek the resources of the NMDP with the hope of receiving a life-saving marrow or cord blood transplant. Our staff helps deliver cutting-edge science, service and support to those patients and their families.
 
Senior Web Information Architect
The Senior Web Information Architect will lead the efforts to deliver successful Internet and Intranet solutions within the web infrastructure for the NMDP. This includes project leadership/management on all enterprise web site and web applications development and support projects, knowledge of information architecture, web site design, project management, user interface design, internet/intranet web site management and content management. 
 
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Math, Computer Science, or Business with an emphasis in Management Information Systems, Graphic Design or related field. Equivalent related experience and/or education may be substituted for the degree. Three years of technical work experience producing graphics and web sites in a web or Internet development and database environment, which included two years experience performing web or Internet development, as well as two years of experience working independently and in a team-based development environment.
 
Possess knowledge of procedural (waterfall) approach and/or UML (Unified Modeling Language) and development life cycle including testing process and methods; knowledge of user interface design principles. Advanced experience working in environments using leading tools and technology including HTML, CGI, Java script,  enterprise-level relational database management systems and database design and SQL, and building cross-browser and cross-platform web-based applications using various script and program languages. Highly effective interpersonal, organizational, and analytical, and creative problem solving skills with above average written and verbal communication skills are needed.
