Senior Account Executive

Scope of Position:

 

Senior Client Services contact.  Participate in setting strategies and implement creative programs to meet client goals that generate measurable results. Serve as internal project team leader ultimately responsible for the successful implementation and completion of projects.

 

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Client relationship management and strategy
    • Build strong relationships with all clients at appropriate levels.  Seek opportunities to make contacts in other areas of the department or company,
    • Function as the day-to-day contact on accounts.  Stay in regular communication (in-person, phone, e-mail), schedule meetings, etc.
    • Set strategic direction and generate new ideas for client programs.
    • Partner with creative on development of strategic briefs.
    • Write proposals and make presentations to clients for new programs.
    • Look for opportunities to grow existing business.
    • Manage all projects on a daily basis, meet deadlines, ensure project meets original strategy and objectives set at the start of the project.
  • Internal team management
    • Lead internal project teams. 
    • Stay in constant communications with team members.  Schedule and run team meetings. Communicate meeting results, phone conversations, emails, etc., to all team members.  Work to keep internal teams motivated and high functioning.
  • Budget management and administration
    • Manage annual budget projections.
    • Partner with Production to develop client budgets.
    • Work with Project Management to ensure projects are executed on time/on budget.
    • Keep up-to-date on daily timesheets and administrative work. 

 

Reporting/Feedback:

  • Provide weekly status report and daily informal updates to supervisor (Account VP).
  • Participate in weekly Client Services meetings, project/team meetings.
  • Initial three-month performance evaluations.  Annual review.

 

Performance Measurements:

  • Success of existing client programs (positive metrics, awards, on time/on budget)
  • Proactive development of new client business
  • Teams that are high performing
  • Understanding of client business; ownership of accounts
  • Establishing and building strong, consultative relationships with clients
  • Quality and accuracy

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, business, or related
  • 4-6 years of marketing experience; at least 3 years of agency experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with clients
  • Experience managing direct reports preferred but not required
  • Experience working with integrated client teams including account and creative resources
  • Ability to travel required
