User Experience Analyst/Information Architect Capella University

The User Experience Analyst establishes the strategic goals for the customer's online experience within assigned Capella University websites.  This individual will partner with key functional groups to define and lead the information architecture and implementation of new web pages and applications.  This position reports to the Supervisor of Online User Experience, whose team has responsibility for the strategic development, production, design and analysis of Capella University's online experience.

Responsibilities:
- Research and develop innovative tools and personalization components to promote self-service, community, and a better user experience.
- Manage strategic direction and execution for assigned sections while driving to overall strategic business goals.
- Coordinate, lead, and document results for usability studies
- Act as main contact to IT development project teams to create outstanding user experience on the site, and may lead content-related projects.
- Work with broader Next Generation Learning department to develop and implement cross-functional processes that improve learner and faculty satisfaction and create company-wide understanding of the impact of various initiatives.
- Create and improve editorial, graphical, and content standards for the highest possible quality, navigational ease, consistency, and content architecture of assigned sections of the site.
- Conceptualize and facilitate implementation of personalized site experiences and decision tools for learners, prospective learners, faculty, alumni, and staff.
- Work with Product Management to identify challenges, recommend and implement solutions for the benefit of key support groups within the organization.  Will also identify cross-project opportunities (similar features that require a holistic approach).

Qualifications 

 - Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination

- Experience:  4+ years in any combination of internet and communication roles

- Ability to turn concepts into project requirements, perform competitive analysis, content and audience analysis, and create use cases, sitemaps, wireframes, and copydecks

- Advanced knowledge of information architecture, site navigation, and usability engineering

- Knowledge of web technology, online self-service, eLearning, social networking, and general technology trends

- Project management and business analysis skills a plus

- Demonstrated project management skills and ability to lead

- Knowledge of project methodology

- Experience with personalization, content management, web reporting, statistical analysis

- Ability to create web pages using high level HTML

- Proficient in several applications (Dreamweaver MX, Visual Source Safe, Visio, etc.)

 

Salary is market comparable – commensurate with experience.
