User Experience Strategist  

US Bank is looking to hire a skilled User Experience Strategist to join our team to create the next-generation of interactive experiences for our customers: best in class transactions and tools that offer guidance, preemptive support, and contextual recommendations. We're looking for a strong user experience strategy lead to help us redefine how US Bank users will access their financial information, explore our services, and apply for products online. You will lead cross-functional team efforts involving interaction designers, visual designers, content specialists, and researchers that are committed to developing innovative and easy-to-use products in accordance with US Bank brand guidelines.
This position reports to the User Experience Director and is based in Minneapolis, MN.
 
Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all UX projects for a specified platform managing inputs from Online Marketing, Business/Product Development, Program Management and Engineering Departments. Ensure every project meet both business and users' goals.
  • Set vision, define priorities and allocate resources as appropriate for all projects.
  • Bring strong creative, conceptual and problem-solving skills to translate conceptual ideas into interactive design solutions through creative briefs, experience guides and UX artifacts
  • Assess data from multiple sources (product requirements, tech constraints, UX research, web analytics, latest industry trends…) and synthesize it in order to provide strategic and tactical direction
  • Work in conjunction with Interaction, Visual, Content and Research teams to appropriately guide design decisions with qualified insights.
  • Help define UX performance metrics (error rate, abandon rate, average number of clicks, perceived ease of use, etc.) for every project to track its success.
  • Ensure UX solutions comply with US Bank guidelines and principles.
  • Act as a catalyst in driving a culture of teamwork and innovation centered on the needs of our customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a UX related discipline
  • Five or more years of experience as UX practitioner in a key UX discipline (IxD, Visual Design, Content Strategy/Design, UX Research)
  • Two or more years of experience leading projects or in a managerial role within the UX discipline

 Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Proven track record delivering high quality work while hitting commitments and timeframes based on product and business requirements
  • Ability to successfully execute on, and load balance across, multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate conflict and persuade others on the merits of a design solution.
  • Ability to assess, prioritize and make trade-offs against business, technical and user constraints.
  • Thorough understanding of overall web site design, including basic usability, industry standards, web analytics and brand.
  • Proficient to expert in some of these tools: Microsoft Visio, Axure, OmniGraffle, Morae, UserZoom, Photoshop, Fireworks.
  • Knowledge of cross-platform browser compatibility restrictions and requirements.
