PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to assist with Marketing Web and Email design: Design, coding, testing, and deployment.

KEY RESULT AREAS

•        Design, coding, testing, and deployment of marketing emails and websites. (80%)

•        Update current web store pages, and marketing sites

•        Customize social media marketing sites (FBML)

•        Self disciplined, highly organized, and flexible (fluid)

•        Strong multi-tasker, and creative under tight deadlines

•        Stay’s current on industry design trends

•        Proofing and QA of own work to ensure flawless execution

•        Works well independently and in a team environment

RELATIONSHIPS

·         Reports to: Visual Design Team Lead

·         Internal relationships with: Senior web designer,  I.T., Marketing, and Development teams

·         External relationships with: External design agencies, and freelance designers as needed

JOB SPECIFICATION

A.   Commitment to Augsburg Fortress Publishers Mission, Vision, and Values.

B.   Desired education and experience:

·         Minimum 2 year degree in Web Design

·         3+ years experience HTML email development

·         Previous marketing or advertising experience a plus.

·         Previous graphic design print work experiences a plus.

C.   Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:

·         Expert working knowledge of Adobe Design Premium CS5 (Dreamweaver, Photoshop)

·         Expert in HTML, and working experience with HTML 5

·         Expert CSS skills

·         Working experience with Illustrator, and In Design CS5

·         Working experience with SharePoint Designer

·         Strong Layout skills (not WYSIWIG experience only)

·         Experience with FBML programming for social media sites

·         Advanced SEO technique knowledge and best practices

·         Ability to trouble shoot and diagnose web issues

·         Ability to adhere to a wide range of existing designs and brand standards

·         Familiar with Subversion and JQuery

·         Familiar with ASP/ESP third party email platforms

·         Familiar with SharePoint or equivalent organizational programs for project management.

·         Working experience with basic Microsoft office programs

·         Knowledge of ELCA and Lutheran heritage, organizational structures, and mission helpful.

·         Familiarity with other mainline Christian organizations also helpful.
