SUMMARY:

 The Web Designer is responsible for designing art for the organization’s online presence. In addition to designing web sites, banners, and emails, this person will also work closely with the technical team to convert the art to usable assets that meet required technical standards.

The Web Designer will work closely with technical, business development, and marketing members of the organization, so strong communication and inter-departmental coordination skills are needed.  Tasks require a strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conceptualize and execute the design of a wide variety of web content including complete sites, ad banners, emails, and more
• Design product pages with the goal of improving site conversions
• Work cooperatively with key team members, clients and vendors
• Other related tasks as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors in Art; with emphasis in Graphic Design and Multimedia
• 5+ years of design experience
• Strong art and design skills
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Fundamental understanding of web design
• Fundamental understanding of the technical aspects of web design including file size limitations, transparency issues, file type strategies, optimization, hex colors, and browser limitations
• Expert Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and other required tools
• Proficient with Flash Animation and some ActionScript
• Stay abreast with the latest web design trends and standards
• Ability to hand-code HTML and CSS a plus
