The Web and Email Production Assistant is a member of the Electronic Communications & New Media team in University Relations. This person will assist in producing and managing websites, code and send email blasts and support other electronic media.

Web production, development & content management
* Act as key contact for the campus-wide online events calendar.
* Help manage updates to campus maps pages.
* Maintain various University Relations websites both in and outside of content management systems.
* Assist in the production of multimedia presentations, including audio, video, and slideshows.
* Archive websites and web pages as necessary.

Mass email distribution
* Work with University Relations teams and other select University units to schedule and send email blasts to internal and external audiences using Lyris ListManager.
* Use HTML templates to build and test each email, verifying copy, layout and links as well as assess and address any spam risks.
* Work with designers to ensure template changes and one-off designs are implementable and will render consistently across email clients.
* Maintain email distribution lists.
* Deploy emails and monitor any delivery issues.
* Analyze and report on results of emails to improve future performance.
* Stay up-to-date on email trends and best practices.

Search Engine Optimization & Analytics
* Manage requests for keywords in the University's Google search.
* Using Google Analytics, among other tools, analyze traffic and usage for University web, email, and social media properties.
* Assist in developing reporting standards. Create and distribute user-relevant analytics dashboards.
* Ensure all University Relations content and web pages are optimized and search-friendly.

 

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree
* Solid understanding of HTML and CSS
* Ability to implement web and email designs by hand coding HTML and CSS (without the use of a WYSIWYG editor)
* Understanding of email metrics
* General understanding of content management systems
* 1 to 2 years working in an office environment
* Experience working with content management systems such as Drupal or Wordpress
* Experience with Lyris ListManager or similar bulk email software
* Experience with Google Analytics
* Experience with JavaScript
* Basic understanding of metrics used for social media, web, and email
* Experience providing technical customer service, and application support and training
